I bought my male stud "Riley" partially for his "perfect back", a possible higher risk issue with breeds that are proportioned this way, larger body to shorter legs. The trade off is that he has a small tail. Because a cork screw tail is actually an extension of the spine, the more screwed the tail is the more likely that you could have back problems in age of your dog. Hence, I opted to breed for this and will find that some of my puppies, although very straight backed like their father will also have a little more tail than a traditional stub. Also, I could crop the tail piece but have chosen to leave it natural.
